A “Thank you” letter to state legislators from Child Care Providers United Members (CCPU)

“From the beginning, you understood that family child care providers are early educators and our work is valuable. You stood by our side throughout our fight for union recognition, our first contract, and we asked you once again to stand by our side as we fight for basic health care coverage and retirement benefits. You understand the underinvestment providers have faced for decades, and know that the COVID pandemic made stable child care that much harder to provide. We know that you are a crucial partner in ensuring that we create the strongest early care and education system possible and we ask that you continue to prioritize investing in making child care jobs good jobs–by funding much-needed benefits and increasing provider pay. Standing with providers means standing with California families in paving the way to a bright future for California’s kids.”

THANK YOU California State Senator Steven Bradford, State Senator Nancy Skinner, State Senator Maria Elena Durazo, State Senator Toni G. Atkins, California State Representative Miguel Santiago, Assemblymember Anthony Rendon, Assemblymember Phil Ting, Assemblymember Isaac G. Bryan, and Assemblywoman Mia Bonta
